Ouchie Origami is a personal-growth learning platform. Some of what you share here — journal entries, self-assessment responses — is deeply personal. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and the commitments we make about how it is handled. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and sign-in credentials. We use this to operate your account, sync your progress, and communicate with you about the service.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number and payment credentials go directly to Stripe and are never stored on — and never touch — our servers. We keep only a record of what you purchased, when, and a Stripe customer reference so we can grant access and handle refunds.
Self-assessment responses
If you take a self-assessment, we store your responses and results so you can revisit them and see change over time.
Journal entries and voice recordings
Journal entries you write are stored with your account. Voice recordings you make in guided course features (and any future journal voice notes) are transcribed using OpenAI's Whisper service, and the recording and transcription are stored with your account. Your journal is yours: it is visible only to you, and we do not read it except where strictly necessary to operate the service or as required by law.
AI-guided conversations
Some courses include AI-guided chat. Messages you send in those conversations are processed by OpenAI to generate responses, and the conversation history is stored with your account so you can pick up where you left off.
Our Commitments About Your Content
- We do not sell your personal information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- Your journal entries and assessment responses are never used for marketing. Not for ad targeting, not for promotional segmentation, not for "personalized offers." This is a binding commitment, not an aspiration.
- We use privacy-first product analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages load, where people get stuck. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party ad networks.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the service: courses, journaling, assessments, and membership features.
- To process purchases and manage subscriptions.
- To send transactional email (receipts, sign-in links, account notices) and, if you opt in, occasional updates. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To improve the product using aggregate, privacy-first analytics.
Service Providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers, each of which processes data only to provide their service to us:
- Stripe — payment processing. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe.
- OpenAI — voice transcription (Whisper) and AI-guided chat responses.
- SendGrid — email delivery.
- Cloudflare — hosting and storage. The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, and your data is stored in Cloudflare's D1 database, KV, and R2 storage services.
Your Rights: Export and Deletion
Your account includes data controls that let you export a copy of your data — including journal entries, assessment responses, guided-course conversations and voice memo transcripts, and course progress — and delete your personal content. To close your account entirely, or to request export or deletion by email, contact support@ouchieorigami.com and we will handle it promptly.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your personal content — journal entries, recordings, assessment responses, and conversation history — at any time using your account data controls, and when you close your account that content is deleted. We may retain limited records (such as purchase history) where required for tax, accounting, or legal purposes, and short-lived backups age out on their normal schedule.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email. The commitments in "Our Commitments About Your Content" will not be weakened by a policy update.
Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Arizona, USA.
