Terms of Service

Effective date: July 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of Ouchie Origami (the "Service"), available at https://ouchieorigami.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What the Service Is

Ouchie Origami offers online courses, books, a membership, and supporting tools including guided journaling, self-assessments, and AI-guided course features. Content is created by Spencer Thornock and draws on lived experience with grief, recovery, and personal growth.

The Health Disclaimer — Please Read This One

Everything on this site is lived-experience education. Our posture is witness, not advice: we share what one person walked through and what helped, so you can decide what is useful to you.

The Service is not medical care, mental-health treatment, therapy, or counseling, and using it does not create a provider–patient or therapist–client relationship. Nothing here is a substitute for care from a qualified professional, and you should not delay or disregard professional care because of something you read or experienced here.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out now:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988 (United States).
  • Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741.
  • Outside the US findahelpline.com lists helplines by country.
  • Immediate danger — call 911 or your local emergency number.

These resources also appear in the site footer and alongside our Privacy Policy.

AI Features

Some features generate responses using AI (including AI-guided course chat and voice transcription). AI-generated responses can be imperfect, incomplete, or wrong, and they are not therapy, diagnosis, or professional advice. Treat them as a reflective companion to the course material, not as an authority.

Your Account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Payments and Subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Stripe; we never store your card details. Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no cancellation fees, no hoops. Pricing is shown before you buy; if prices change, existing subscriptions are honored through their current billing period and you will be notified before any renewal at a new price. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Service — courses, books, lessons, text, audio, video, and design — is owned by Spencer Thornock / Epic Digital Media and protected by copyright. Your purchase or membership grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access the content for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute, republish, or share access to the content. Content you create — your journal entries, assessment responses, and notes — remains yours.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account or circumvent access controls or payment requirements.
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute course or book content.
  • Use the Service to harass, harm, or impersonate others.
  • Attempt to probe, disrupt, or overload the Service or access other users' data.
  • Use AI features to generate unlawful or harmful content.

Termination

You can delete your personal content at any time using your account data controls, and you can close your account entirely by emailing support@ouchieorigami.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid amounts for the unused portion of your subscription.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, USA.
